We (Milan Lemaire, Fien Yde, and I) were invited to participate in an event at our former school, SMSI (Sint-Maartensscholen Ieper). The school hosted a professional evening to provide insights into our studies and to offer a glimpse into student life at Howest and in Bruges.

We were pleasantly surprised not only by the number of prospective students attending but also by the substantial presence of volunteers and professionals available for conversations. In total, over 150 individuals were present, eager to assist the next generation of students by addressing their questions.
Many attendees seemed unsure about their interest in the field of Applied Sciences, but we did our best to showcase both the positive and, at times, challenging aspects of the discipline. This resulted in people having a more clear vision about not only the study, but also the workfield as there were some IT-Professionals that were also available.
Many attendees were also torn between choosing this study at Howest Bruges or Vives Courtrai. As you can probably guess, we gladly pointed them in the direction of Bruges! 😉

After two and a half hours of engaging with the next generation of IT enthusiasts, we were pleasantly surprised with sandwiches topped with various fillings and an open bar. As you can see in this picture, we were very happy with this unexpected treat!
