This journey feels like a nostalgic trip back in time. My initial experiences working on IT projects happened alongside my friends. It began as a hobby, something to occupy our time after school. Initially, my tasks centered around web design, although I must confess, not all my designs were my best creations. But, adhering to the principle of ‘customer is king,’ I diligently carried out every request.
Our clientele was wonderfully diverse, ranging from an Antique dealer in need of an online presence, to a passionate art lecturer, and even a young artist establishing his own clothing line. Each project presented its unique challenges and rewards, honing my skills and deepening my appreciation for the nuances of web design and IT solutions. These experiences laid the foundation for my journey in the IT world, teaching me the importance of adaptability and client satisfaction.
PEMCO International
This project truly caught me off guard, and I had absolutely no idea what to expect or what was even expected of me. I was tasked with creating a Sharepoint Intranet for a multinational corporation, a task I had imagined undertaking after several years of experience in the field. This experience made me realize that every aspect of IT is indispensable when it comes to meeting the diverse needs of businesses.
My familiarity with Sharepoint was limited, but I was determined to take on the challenge. After some self-guided learning, I began to grasp the basics, but fortunately, I received valuable assistance from consultants at Centric. They not only taught me a great deal but also welcomed my suggestions on how to approach certain aspects of the project.
Since the Human Resources department at Pemco was the driving force behind the Sharepoint Intranet, I spent a significant amount of time collaborating with them, attending meetings, and pondering over what was truly in their best interest and what they genuinely desired. This experience encouraged me to delve deeper into the intricacies of meeting client needs, and I found it incredibly rewarding.

I had the opportunity to start my internship at delaware as part of my studies at Howest Bruges. This was truly an unforgettable experience for which I am eternally grateful.
During my internship, I explored the possibilities of Microsoft’s Power Platform, which opened my eyes to what can be achieved with this technology. I developed a Power App to register incoming visitors at an organization, and I also delved into Power Pages, discovering how low-code applications can be enhanced with pro-code. This experience challenged my coding skills, which was long overdue.
By the end of my internship, my superiors were very pleased with my work, and I received a wonderful job offer. There is no better reward than being presented with such an opportunity after completing an internship.
