On March 21st, delaware hosted an event for the Belgian PowerAddicts, a non-profit organization fostering a community for Power Platform enthusiasts. These gatherings prioritize networking and connection-building across corporate boundaries, facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration among developers.
The event featured two guest speakers. The first, a delaware employee, discussed Power Automate performance fundamentals, offering practical tips to optimize workflows and address common challenges. Topics ranged from reducing high action loop counts to utilizing parallel branches and ODATA filtering. This speaker, Laurens Martens, might be familiar to you if you’ve scrolled through Microsoft’s forums looking for solutions to your problems. A couple of days ago, he received recognition as an MVP from Microsoft, which ensures you as a listener of his expertise.
This topic was actually very helpful, it really showed me a couple of best practices that I should implement into my code. Causing me to refactor some projects the following week 😉
After this talk, we had a small break, which was filled with drinks and snacks, giving us a “recharge” for the following talk.
The next topic was brought to us by a low-code developer from Cegeka and was about improving how you’re developing your Canvas Apps. Emphasizing the importance of error handling and documentation, attendees gained valuable strategies for improving app quality and usability.
The entire event felt like a success to me. I was introduced to several concepts I wasn’t even aware of, which was incredibly enlightening. I’m also glad I got introduced to the Belgian PowerAddicts. As a newfound member of the community, I eagerly anticipate future events and continued learning opportunities, which are typically held every two months.
