Well, in fact, building this website was not very difficult. I knew that you could get a domain name for free as a student in Applied Sciences at Howest.
You just needed to visit the Academic Software website and look for the package called “Combell WordPress.” When you click on this package, you are directed to a page with clear instructions on how to get your domain name for free and link a WordPress site to this domain name.
Once that’s done, you simply select a template you like, and you’re all set. The entire process took less than an hour, after which I could begin creating posts and other pages.
Why WordPress?
It was also possible to host a website based on .NET or Linux, but I was more familiar with WordPress.
Also, I knew you could just add a post to your website, which was perfect for the use case of blogging about events.
