On November 27th, I had the chance to visit TVH (Thermote and Vanhalst) in Waregem. As a significant company with multiple buildings situated alongside the highway connecting Ghent and Courtrai, TVH always intrigued me during my childhood whenever I passed by those imposing buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The idea of exploring TVH alongside Howest ignited a sense of anticipation within me, offering a long-awaited opportunity to discover the secrets concealed behind those towering walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well it turns out that TVH actually isn’t that “secretive” about their whole business goals\/processes. They have a very big visitor centre as this picture can illustrate.
Upon our arrival, we were introduced to the guides who would lead us through the entire company visit. Following this, we embarked on what I would describe as a “cultural tour,” delving into TVH’s operations and tracing the origins of the organization.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Engaging with the employees proved to be a delightful experience. They were not only enthusiastic but also remarkably open in addressing any questions we had, especially regarding the work environment. It became evident to me that at TVH, employees take precedence, placing them at the forefront of the company’s priorities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
Following our “cultural tour,” we were introduced to our next guides\/employees from the consultancy company ACA Group. Their role involves assisting TVH in implementing their Warehouse Management System. These guides provided us with a comprehensive overview of the intricate packing process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inside the area dedicated to packing and storage, photography was prohibited. Unfortunately, I’m unable to share visuals of the dynamic scene, including moving boxes, reachers (machines designed for extracting packages from the warehouse without human interaction), and other elements. But one thing I can share from this warehouse visit is, software is essential in every sector, even where it might not be immediately apparent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we headed back to the visitor center, we received a goody bag filled with sustainable merchandise. After expressing our gratitude and exchanging final contact information with ACA Group representatives, we concluded this enjoyable experience. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
